Typical MacBook Air Screen Repair

Image
A lot of customers come to our site with questions like "What does a broken MacBook screen look like?" and especially "How much does it cost to fix a MacBook screen?" Here's a great example of a typical screen repair for a MacBook Air. A crack is clearly visible diagonally across the bottom right corner, with grey areas and white areas surrounding it. There are also multicolored vertical lines throughout the display area, and green inky smears or splotches around the perimeter. It may not initially seem like the screen is cracked, because the LCD panel is still smooth to the touch, but the internal part of the LCD can be damaged very easily from rough handling, drops, or closing the lid of the laptop on an object, such as a pair of earbuds. This LCD screen is definitely broken. Now that we've diagnosed the issue, the customer sends their computer in to us for repair (using plenty of bubble wrap!). We remove the damaged LCD panel and replace it with a new

A1398 MacBook Pro Retina Cracked Screen Repair

Image
This 15 inch MacBook Pro Retina Display is badly cracked. There are visible crack marks across the display and blue, white, green, and purple vertical lines going up and down over the screen. The image on the screen is also jittery and shaky, causing the photo here to be a bit blurry. These are some of the possible signs of a broken LCD panel. Sometimes, the glass on the front of the screen will remain intact, but in this case there is also a scratch on the surface of the screen where the impact was. Our repair service fixes all of these issues. On this A1398 model, we replace the entire display assembly, meaning the whole "lid" portion of the laptop, with a brand new piece. This will fix broken glass, broken screen, lines, splotches, shaky image, dents on the corners or back of the display, and even a broken webcam. The repair can be done in under 24 hours. MacBook Pro 2008 Unibody A1278 Broken Screen Repair

Image
The funky black and white pattern on this MacBook Pro's screen may remind you of an ink blot test. To us, it looks like a clear impact to the front of the screen, perhaps from closing the laptop lid on an object. The hit to the center of the display must not have been very hard, because the glass on the front of the screen is ok. As you can see from the distorted image, however, the LCD panel was damaged and needs to be replaced. On this A1278 "split bottom" model of MacBook Pro, we are able to replace just the broken LCD, saving the customer some money over a full display replacement. The cost came to only $195 including shipping. Do you need your MacBook Pro display repaired? We offer both LCD and Glass replacements for MacBook Pros. MacBook Air Screen Cracked By Itself

Image
So your MacBook Air screen cracked? This issue is not uncommon. You can find accounts of the MacBook screen cracking by itself on Apple's own forums as well as MacRumors , and others. A crack is only formed by some sort of force, but the amount of force and the type of force that causes a crack can vary a lot. On some models only a little bit of force is required if applied just right to crack the LCD panel of the Mac. The models that seem to crack the most with the least amount of force are the original MacBooks (white and black models), and the MacBook Air series. While both of these models still require some sort of trauma to crack the screen, in our experience they require less trauma to crack on average than the MacBook Pro line of laptops. Sometimes when the computer comes in we can see where the impact point was that caused the damage to the LCD, other times, it does appear the screen started to crack from a kind of twisting motion.
